I could barely handle late elementary school, how am I supposed to handle middle school! (Jane) (excited) How about we meet up tomorrow morning and walk to school together! (Nyla) (laughing) That sounds like more of a demand than a suggestion! (Jane) (nervous) see you tomorrow, nyla -morning comes- (Jane, brushing her teeth) You got this, Jane. You got this. (spits, deep breath) (runs outside) (Jane, anxious) Where’s Nyla... (Nyla, confidently strutting in) Fashionably late! (Jane, sarcastic) What happened to nervousness? (Nyla, falling back to talk with Alex, kind, happy, fake) Alex! How’s your summer gone? Its kind of nice having that idiot Jane’s phone number. I can bug her even more! (Alex, laughing) Hah! Yeah. Now that we’re back in school, I can torture her more than elementary! (cackle) Should we wait by the schedule table for Randy? (Nyla, eager) Let’s just get going. He won't mind, that slowpoke. -class- (Jane sits in the last remaining seat, beside Randy) (Randy, weak, fake intimidation) Jane! So excited to see you. Me and Alex can torture you so much in middle school! (pause outside doorstep and check phone, goes to Adrina’s contact) (Jane, sad, wistful) We’d been so looking forward to starting middle school together... Two years since our last messages... -flashback- (Jane, excited) Fourth grade! In just three years, we’ll start middle school together! (Adrina, wistful, fake excited, sad) Yeah! Maybe...
