As for poor Diamond Tiara,her father,Filthy Rich,was in Manehatten on a buissness trip when Daybreaker took over,and she hasn't seen him since.Her mother,on the other hoof,has been rumored to have flattered her way into being one of Daybreaker's advisors,meaning she gets plenty of fine jewelry reserved for the advisors,and she couldn't care less about Diamond Tiara. Luckily,the near-death expirence brought her to be friends with the cmc,and in one case,more than friends.(story excerpt in notes)
Diamond Tiara was running for her life,one of Daybreaker's guards not far behind her.Where was her mother?!Surely her mother would protect her right?A memory came to Diamond's mind;it was a few hours ago,her mother had been lecturing her about associating with 'lower class ponies' (the cmc) when the raid had come.Her mother had merely glanced at Diamond Tiara before galloping off to who knew where.Diamond had tried to follow her but was cut off by a pink pegasus mare in orange armor.She screamed and ran.It was this pegasus she was running from now.The pegasus pounced on Diamond,pinning her to the ground,about to deliver a fatal blow to Diamond with her spear,but suddenly the pegasus toppled over screeching in pain.One of her eyes was black.Diamond looked up to see her savior and was shocked:A yellow earth pony with a rose colored mane and tail was standing there.It seemed Apple bloom had learned a thing or to about apple bucking from her sister,and had used this skill to kick the pegasus in the head.Diamond moved to get up but a sting came to the back of her neck,and she became woozy. "See if you can escape together now little ponies."The pegasus said,a sleeping dart in her hoof.The pegasus launched herself at Diamond again,and drearily blinking Diamond thought she was absolutely done for.She did not however think that Apple bloom would do what she did next.Apple bloom kicked again,hitting the pegasus in the other eye this time. "Get away from her, ya overgrown chicken!"Apple bloom yelled,and effortlessly tossed Diamond onto her back and galloped away. "You just hang in there Diamond,yer scratched up pretty bad but as soon as we get to some place safe I'ma get you bandaged up.Just hang in there.Please hang in there."If Apple bloom continued to whisper to Diamond she couldn't tell,for all sound faded from her ears and she closed her eyes.
