USE FULL SCREEN! Otherwise some text will be hard or impossible to read. Click to change the slide! :D For all you folks who want to host a MAP, here are tips from someone who's hosted/cohosted almost 30 MAPs and worked with almost a thousand unique animators! There are ten tips for a successful MAP, and ten suggestions for a MAP that seems to be struggling :D Mostly targeted towards first-time MAP hosts! I normally don't encourage advertising on projects but if you have a MAP call you can def link it here and I'll <probably> check it out! You can also invite me to your MAP here: https://scratch.mit.edu/studios/27340274 Want to see some really epic complete MAPs? Here's all 28 of mine: https://scratch.mit.edu/studios/32295276/ Looking for a MAP to join for animation experience? Ask me and I'll link you a few of my favorites! Btw this is just my thoughts, this does not mean your MAP is bad if it doesn't follow the guidelines! DEFINITIONS: MAP: Multi-Animator-Project. A host puts out a call for animators, who then select parts of a project to animate; then the host puts the complete version together! TNEs: Thumbnail Entries! Traditional MAPs have a thumbnail contest where people enter their art to be chosen as the final project cover. WIPs: Work in Progress. A participant may show you one of these to prove they're working on it- especially if their part is overdue! Participants: Animators taking part in a MAP Collabs: A participant completes only a part of their animation, and has another participant finish for them Cohosting: A MAP with more than one host. Rehosting: A new person takes host responsibilities if the previous host cannot continue a MAP. Refs: References, so that if multiple people are animating say, a gray bird, they all use the same shade of gray. Makes a MAP more consistent! AMV/PMV: Two styles of MAP part; one is Animation Music Video, the other Picture Music Video- some MAPs call for only one of them, in others you can use either one when making your part. If there are definitions I missed, tell me lol If you want help starting a MAP, lmk! I'd be happy to help you cut music, make a cover, design palettes/script/refs, or build a completed MAP! :) Who knows, maybe I'll even participate in it if I'm really interested- Oki doki, thanks for reading!
