Song Featured: Crystal Waters - Gypsy Woman Thank you to Moose for getting the photo of the front view of the Clio in the thumbnail. - Click on the car, use the space bar or your arrow keys to take a tour round one of the most well appointed, safest small cars from the late 1990's. - Renault's first generation Clio really, quite literally, sold like hot cakes, mainly because they had lots of flavour and were cooked just to perfection. So continuing the trend of sweet little hatchbacks, in 1998, after over 7 years of engineering, in-depth research and seemingly, assistance from a greater being, the Clio II launched. Gone were angles and lines and in came a rather 'blobby' shape with smooth curves at every turn (including a rather distinctive rear window), a smiling front end and, to go with it, an interior which would put a hotel to shame with equipment levels you'd see in a far more expensive and larger car. It was really no surprise it was the bestselling car in France in 1998, 1999 and 2000, and appeared in many other top 10's across Europe. It captured hearts of many buyers with that prior mentioned chic styling, great equipment and very low running costs. Of course though, being an older Renault, if it wasn't looked after (which many weren't), reliability was... typical in the nicest of words. Electricals, brakes, suspension and gearboxes were all common downfalls of these cars, as well as generally shoddy build quality, but looking past these rather fixable problems, the Clio II was a great little car, and its heavy revisions in 2001 improved upon this fantastic formula. - I didn't really have this car planned, but I had the sudden urge to draw something. However instead of drawing the car and leaving trim levels and information for after, I got a bit carried away with myself and completed the car after only a few days, which I am very, very pleased with. The MK2 Clio was the car I decided upon, because I got the 2000MY brochure for a Christmas (as well as the Peugeot 206!) and, mainly, because it has been my dream first car for a while now. One last thing! No advert this time because I had it recorded and in the project but I tried something new with the scripting and it went wrong so I gave up.. it doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things, the advert wasn't that interesting either to be honest. Have a good 2023 everybody, good luck for all you want to get done!
