Instructions

Icy patterns from Christmas trees connected at center. Try different angles and different number of trees. For snowflake pattern, set trees to 6. I like slow speed to enjoy the growth. Set speed before hitting flag.

Description

Draws snowflakes as conifer trees connected. Notice these snowflakes have the branching characteristic of conifer trees, like evergreens ("Christmas trees"). The pattern is roughly fractal. This type of branching is different than the typical fractal trees, in which each single branch ends at the point that it splits into two (like a deciduous tree). By contrast, trees used here has branches that continue such that each single branch continues even as it adds two branches. Notice this type of branching is characteristic of conifers, also called evergreens, like Christmas trees. Music excerpts are from Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker Suite, MIDI file.
