Instructions

The Feldkanne was a type of Dynabloxian field gun, named after its ease of transportation (Feld -> field, as in field artillery) and different form of usage (field artillery was used for battles, instead of sieges), made during the 1390s to the late 1450s. The Fieldkanne had a caliber of 0.83 studs (10 inches) and a projectile weight of 10 pounds, which was actually quite low for the time, considering that bombards were often made to calibers greater than 20 inches, and its maximum range was about 600 studs. Although the Feldkanne might have been made during a era where most cannons were typically intended for sieges only, the Feldkanne was intended for being used as a field gun for use in battles, where the typical target was a lot more squishy and easier to destroy than a brick-and-mortar castle wall. Its gun carriage looks suprisingly similar to more modern ones, but has a weird feature: instead of using a trunnion (or even a block of wood that was hammered up and down) for aiming, this bombard had a particularly unusual aiming method: where its angle could be changed by taking out a pin, and moving the "handle part of the upper carriage up and down until it reached the desired angle. Once the hole on the "handle" part could connect with a hole on the pinstock (the thing on the lower carriage, with a bunch of pins on it), you could then finally hammer the pin in to set your angle. This method of aiming was not very precise, but it was at least a solution that could work. However, as mentioned earlier, the Feldkanne was eventually replaced with a different type of field gun in the late 1450s, because due to the usage of corned gunpowder, iron cannonballs instead of stone cannonballs, and improved barrel-casting tecniques, the Feldkanne became short-ranged, heavy, and much more prone to bursting than more modern cannons. also if you're wondering: yes, dynabloxia did have larger bombards meant only for sieges, too. those guns were more akin to the typical bombard than the Feldkanne is. also another thing again: dynabloxia did not invent gunpowder, though. however, like many real life european countries during this time, they capitalized on its use for warfare more than its inventors did. maybe tejikara could have invented gunpowder in the tekkite universe? possibly.
