Use it like a real EcoDisc.
Title : R.I.P. !!!! Brand new fast 2022 KONE Monospace MRL traction lift… Brand : Kone. Model : MonoSpace 700 DX. Comissioning date : 03/07/2022 (According to the technical specification sheet for this lift which is in the logic cabinet which was left unlocked). Motor : EcoDisc MX 20 +. Type : MRL Traction. Capacity : 1600 Kg 20 Persons. Speed : 2 m/s. Location : Some department store in one of the malls at the Kristoffersen Shopping Center, Kristinad, Sweden. Other : R.I.P. ! This lift has been now replaced with a new Harrington/Sodimas MRL traction which is loads worse than this brand new EcoDisc. Here 9 reasons why : 1. It is a lot slower (1 m/s). 2. It is a lot smaller (630 Kg 8 Persons). 3. The quality is a lot lower (Only an under chassis, flimsy cab, flimsy buttons and tin-can motor). 4. The design is a lot more generic-looking (Although, Sodimas is not a generic brand as it makes it own parts). 5. It has a cheap Fuji Lift Frenic VF drive (Worse than Omron/Yaskawa VF). 6. The logic is more « generic-style » than KCE (It is Sodimas QI touch but very badly set-up, quite simplistic and rather cr&p). 7. No pre-doors anymore. 8. No nice sounding EcoDisc anymore. 9. No nice voice and chimes anymore. This EcoDisc is brand new, fast, big, efficient and really well-built. WHY does it needs to be completely replaced with a more boring lift ? Well, it is in a perfect state and has no issues. But it despite being in a perfect state, it will be replaced because the departments of this super big shopping center are going to be renovated and some horrible bureaucrats that have a similar mindset to Evil Owl’s mindset are going to « REPLACE ALL LIFTS WITH GENERIC RUBBISH », even though Sodimas lifts are not generic lifts but they are installed by Harrington with Harrington’s panel + indicators or Sodimas panels with generic/Harrington indicators ! This lift is now already under replacement after only a few months of service ! This is just disgusting. Also, this part of the shopping center has been renovated in 2019 because some mad person has set something on fire !!! This part has also been renovated during the whole shopping center renovation in 2002-2009. They have heavily refurbished the inside and the outside of all of the malls and they also have replaced some electrical equipment but most of the lifts are original. They have also extended the mall and added some equipment (Including new lifts). This part was renovated in 2002-2004. And all the buildings, including the 2002-2009’s extension buildings are now closed for very heavy but cheap, quick and unecessary renovation ! For some wierd reason, 3 lifts have been modded by Harrington with Sodimas equipment before the closure for renovation and the other lifts will be fully replaced while the renovation. The shopping center will be reopened in January 2023. The carpark of this part have 4 hydraulic lifts from Harrington. 2 of them have a capacity of 1000 Kg or 13 Persons and 2 of them have a capacity of 1500 Kg or 20 Persons. The 13 Persons ones have been replaced in 2020 with awful Garbage Lift Services hydraulic MRLs despite being the well-built versions of these very cheap 2002-2005 Harrington hydros and one of these Garbage Lift Services lift has already been modded by Jackson Lift Group in 2021 with new hydraulic pump and cylinder and of course the new Lester Controls logic with 2D barcode which is fully shaft-encoded and that modded lift runs efficiently and it even has pre-doors, that’s very good for a Lester mod ! One of the 2 bigger ones has been replaced with this EcoDisc and the last one is original. These 4 lifts doesn’t serve floor 0 but there are 5 another lifts near these 4 lifts which are : - A 2008 Otis Genesis MRL traction. - A 2013 MP Inground Hydro (Installed by Harrington). - A 2000 Harrington Roped Hydraulic. - A 2013 Sodimas Bottom Drive MRL traction (Installed by Harrington). - A 2007 Kleemann MRL Roped Hydraulic (Installed by Harrington). Also, there is a very wierd thing in this lift, the door hold button do the exact same thing as the door open button but it lits up if the photocells are activated or if the door open button is pressed. Also, if that door hold button is pressed, the door open button lits up, this is wieeeerrd ! But anyways, it’s still an awesome lift which will be fully replaced for no reason !!!
