It is larger than its predecessor, has more defined fins, sports a longer tail, has more gills, and has larger jaws. DIET ___________________________________________ Algae, small plants, and small to medium sized arthropods PREDATORS ___________________________________________ Organisms larger than itself, including very large arthropods SOCIAL ___________________________________________ Like its evolutionary ancestor, it avoids other members of its species because of its behavior, but during the breeding season, they form large groups LIFESPAN ___________________________________________ 11 years - 2 weeks as a hatchling, 6 as a juvenile, 5 as teens, and the rest as adults.
