The shape of the design affects what the effect is. Nothing can lay on top of the Rune. If something gets in the way of the Rune while in use, the effect immediately stops. Bigger Rune = Bigger Effect, Smaller Rune = Smaller Effect. Having a certain type of crystal can help boost the Runes as well. With seven other siblings, including her twin sister, there's always chaos in the K.K. manor. Lillith likes to spend her free time watching the stars or reading. Swimming is one of her favorites as well. Lillith can be intimidating at first, given her RBF, but that's just a neutral look. Once you get to know her, she'll still seem brash or blunt, but she means well. She knows that cutting corners or sugar-coating things will only lead to more hurt down the road, so she sees that it's better to be up front immediately, even if it hurts the person's feelings.
