Not all of the costumes are based on or reference anything. I know some may be disappointed to hear that the black, pink and red costumes aren't references to Shadow, Amy and Knuckles but calm down.... I thought this would look a bit more unique that way. Costume Explinations: Alt. 1: Sonic (duh) Alt. 2: Could be seen as a reference to Amy or just a nice pink alt. Alt. 3: Mostly a reference to Super Sonic except for the incorrect quill shape and armbands (I thought the bands would look cooler) Alt. 4: It may look like Shadow but the color is purple and I think it looks pretty cool. Alt. 5: This alt. didn't change from Smash Ultimate. It's a reference to Silver but I gave him cyan eyes to match the costume better. Alt. 6: No, not Knuckles... This costume is just a pallet swap of Sonic's fur and shoes. Alt. 7: Could be seen as Manic or Scrouge but I didn't intend that XD. Alt. 8: A really cool 1930's costume, highly unlikely to appear in smash but I thought it would fit Sonic due to his original design being based off Felix the Cat.
