It's honestly sad that we have to have an entire day to honor people who died due to violence simply because they were trans. What's even more sad is that hundreds of trans people have died as a result of hate crimes in the past year alone. We need to do better, we need to turn this day into a day of remembering people from years ago who died, not people who died this year.
