Try the remix tree: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/733338490/remixtree Those pesky barrels are back with a medieval twist against the crenellated stone wall of a regal castle! Starting from the bottom, the climbers must sprint across all four floors & ascend towards the chequered goal in order to gain 'wins' and increase the difficulty. It's easier said than done, as all sorts of barrels are constantly rolled out across the platform & down to the bottom, which the player must jump over to avoid bumps, squishes, KOs, and other crazy effects. The climbers can use ladders to help them reach the top quicker, but barrels can tumble down them and get in the way of that. The higher the difficulty, the faster barrels will roll out. If our daring crew takes too long to reach the top, the difficulty will decrease to make it easier. That being said, will they be able to reach the gruelling maximum Difficulty 10.0?! We'll have to wait and see. Hover over a character to see their name and amount of wins. If the thumbnail appears while the project is still running, click/tap it to hide it. Please note that the layering may be inaccurate at certain points... ==== HOW 2 REMIX ==== Want to add more players climbing the castle? Follow these instructions carefully to get them in: 1. Scroll down below these instructions & read the rules! Don't proceed until you have. 2. Comment "Remixing..." to notify others, then click the green 'Remix' button at the top-right corner. 3. Create a duplicate of the "Player0" sprite. (right-click the sprite on the sprite list, then click "duplicate") 4. Create your character! Replace every costume in the duplicated sprite with your character, replace all "Voice" sound clips (at the bottom of the sound list) with your character's voice, & set their name, Run-animation and sound-amount settings. If you wish, you can also change their Footstep & Jump sounds. 5. Test your project &, if you like the result, either continue to add more characters or share it! 6. Modify the title to match the current remix number & amount of climbers. You're also allowed to add characters to the thumbnail & add more music tracks. ==== RULES ==== Only @Burgnew_On_A_Laptop, @ZYellow, @Kyle3912Again, @SCRACO65, @Eliminated, @BobbyTheCatTheFirst, @SlyCotton-Apriwolf and @meow10010 are allowed to break these rules. Rules marked with a (!) can ONLY be broken by @Burgnew_On_A_Laptop, nobody else! (!) 1. Remember REMIX ETIQUETTE: Comment "Remixing..." in the comments before starting a remix so people know not to accidentally split the remix tree's branches. If you don't intend to make a new remix branch, then don't remix if someone has commented "Remixing...". (!) 2. DO NOT BREAK SCRATCH'S COMMUNITY GUIDELINES (SCG), so nothing too scary, gory or vulgar!! (!) 3. Don't add or remove anyone from the breaking rules list without permission. Don't delete or ruin anything you didn't make, unless to fix glitches, errors or rule-breaks, delete unused scripts, or (only if you're a rule-breaker) to add a new feature to the game. 5. Don't make your characters too large, that would make it hard to see or make them too inaccurate compared to their hitbox. I suggest scaling your character assets IN THE COSTUME EDITOR to match the size of the other characters before making your other costumes. 6. I don't recommend adding any singular characters that appear to be 2 separate characters (EG: Mario & Luigi both as 1 player), unless they are stuck together with no feasible way to physically detach them. 7. Don't delete any music tracks unless they break the SCG. If you don't want to listen to a certain song or genre, utilize the "audio exemption" functionality to make sure you can't. 8. On the topic of music, please also refer to the Music comment's recommended music limit so this project's file size doesn't bloat too quickly. 9. You can add yourself to the thumbnail, but please don't delete any characters off it (unless they must be removed due to breaking the rules) or completely change it altogether. 10. If you are part of the "breaking rules" list, you're allowed to add a new rule if needed. Remember to add it to both the RULE RECAP comment and the project's instructions! Make sure you double-check these rules in the thumbnail just before you share the project. Blimey, TWO remixes from him on ONE AY-minigame?!?! GEEZ, BURGNEW SURE IS SPOILING US TODAY!! XD (yes, this time things went completely stress-free :) ==== WHAT'S NEW THIS TIME? ==== Additions marked with a * denote those which inspired me to make this remix. - Introducing Little Mouser and Boomboxer! This is my first time adding Paper Mario characters to an AY, and I've wanted to do this (or something similar) for a while now. -- Some of Boomboxer's faces may have not appeared in the original Super Paper Mario, but you should see this expanding of his expression palette as a good thing. *- Some changes to @Ballbro36's "Mario"... -- Renamed him to "Jumpman" to better clarify which iteration of the moustachioed plum- I mean carpenter is featured. -- His 'Squished' costume has been flattened. (i'm ok with non-flattened squashes if the character is lying flat enough on the ground, but Jumpman remained too round) -- Duplicate voice-clips have been removed from him to save space. -- Quietened his footstep and Jump sounds so they don't obscure the other player's steps & jumps as much. - Changed the text position & style of Liam's Squished costume, and added a flipped duplicate so it can still be read when his sprite is facing left. -- payper leeam - Removed the BaseStand costumes from Liam and Jumpman to save project space. I never even intended for it to be kept in Paul, as I just used it as a guide for me to position his angles. However, I've kept his in so you can still use it yourself. - By ZYellow's request, he is now exempt from hearing Liam and Jumpman's unique Jump sounds, as he prefers them to all be uniform - you can add yourself to these audio-exemptions too if you would like. -- He has left a note in the Player Template to tell you how to implement this audio-exemption for him should you want a custom Jump sound for your player. UPDATE 13/11/2022: These audio-exemptions now apply to Jumpman, Little Mouser and Boomboxer's footstep sounds, as he prefers every player to have uniform sounds specifically for this AY-minigame. (his opinions would be different for other AYs) - One new gameplay music-loop: Quixote. This was another track I originally meant to add to my version of the Great Porting Remix, but I never made a loop for it until now due to the jazz's complexity. -- Due to time constraints, I haven't actually tested how it sounds in-game yet. *- The thumbnail and logo have been realigned back to their original spots! They originally misaligned as a result of @PinkyRosie2022's attempt to restore those costumes when a previous remix replaced them with ?-boxes - despite the misalignments caused by her backpack, I still give props to her. UPDATE 14/11/2022: Fixed an error where getting a win on Difficulty-MAX stopped the game from rendering the regular text again. This has existed since the initial release and I shall now fix it on my other remixes - hopefully eventually I can make a more formal announcement of this. Credit to all, including @Ballbro36 for the previous remix, Duncan Lamont for composing "Quixote", @ZYellow for everything that helped make this AY-minigame real, @-Rex- for PTE++...
