Yup. This is a new series. It takes place many, many moons after Brambleclaw's Storm, in the four main Clans. Because it's quicker and just plain easier to edit, I will be writing the story in the notes. STORY: The faint moonlight gleamed through the mixed pine and deciduous trees. A crisp leaf-fall breeze ruffled Fawnspots' fur. She looked down at the three small, fluffy shapes nestled in the curve of her belly. A brown tabby and white tom nuzzled her. "So, what are we going to call them?" He asked softly. Fawnspots nudged the black, gray, and white tom-kit. He shifted slightly and revealed a tiny, twisted leg. "What about Bravekit for this one?" The tom's ice blue eyes sharpened with worry. "A twisted leg? How will he manage?" "He'll do fine, Timberfrost." Fawnspots said with a slight growl. Before he could reply, she touched the pale gray she-kit with her paw. "I think we should name this one Mistykit." Timberfrost nodded. "This one should be Quietkit," he said, nudging the white she-kit with his nose. "While the others mewl and cry for food, she sits there silently." "You know what that could be a sign of." Fawnspots' meow was low with concern. Her pale green gaze darkened. Timberfrost stared at her, his eyes wide. "Two defects in one litter? Would StarClan let that happen?" "Don't call them defects. And you know as well as I do that these kits never should have been born," Fawnspots growled, " They're half-Clan, not to mention born from two medicine cats!" "Would StarClan really punish us for that?" Fawnspots nodded sadly. "I think they are." "What about Mistkit? She's okay," Timberfrost was starting to sound frantic. " Only time will tell." Fawnspots closed her eyes for a few moments. "I will raise them secretly in the forest until they are old enough to travel. Dustflight has her paws full with her three kits, but Larkflower is expecting. She might be able to raise these ones." "What about ShadowClan? Ravenfeather has a new litter of two kits. She might be able to handle three more." Fawnspots shook her head. "It would be hard for her. Besides, I want to be close and watch my kits grow up in ThunderClan." Timberflight dipped his head. "Very well. I will check on them every once in a while out here." * * * Fawnspots watched as her kits opened their eyes, one by one. Bravekit's were a bold blue-green. Quietkit, who was confirmed deaf, had brilliant blue eyes. As Fawnspots saw Mistykit's eyes, she felt a cold trickle of dread run down her spine. Her kit's eyes were a cloudy pale blue. They were unfocused and looking at nothing. Fawnspots heard a horrible wail of anguish, and realized that it was coming from her. Her kit was blind. Worst of all, StarClan was punishing them.
