Press Left and Right to move. Press Space to jump. Donkey Kong will roll barrels towards you, and then you have to jump over them to get points. After you jump, you will only stay in the air for 0.4 seconds, which isn't enough to jump over the barrels on its own. To successfully jump over the barrels, get a running jump.
