U on the nintendo WiiU onto the new super mario bros u DELUXE on the nintendo switch, just hold the L button on the character selection screen while on the yellow toad then select it. Sadly, in multiplayer 1 player cannot play as blue toad when another is yellow toad for some reason...lazy nintendo.
