Well that's what everyone thought atleast, the truth was her parents didn't seem to care, they were always arguing, or not home, they got mad at her for every little thing she did wrong, when they argued Aurelia would run and hide in the forest in the backyard, where she had her own hide out -as she called it- she told no one of this place, it was a small clearing in the woods with a hollowed out tree trunk and a hammock, she had snuck her favorite books, snacks and her basket she uses to collect flowers & mushrooms. She trusted no one with knowing of this place, for she feared that if her parents found out they would be angry and not let her come back, she stayed here often itmwould be terrible to never come here again. One day she got home from school, 'they are arguing again,' she though hearing yelling from upstairs she snuck through the back door trying not to seem upset, it was like this everyday yet, almost everytime it still would make her cry, she never knew why. As she walked into the clearing she looked around and sat down on an old log, as she pulled her home work out she sighed in two days was her birthday, she worried that they would forget, they almost did last year, this year she was turning 11 she was sad since she didn't have any freinds to celebrate with, no one at school really liked her, everyone that talked to her were so obviously fake and just wanted money or her to do their homework. It was pretty upsetting but oh well. She did her homework and decided that her parents should have calmed down by now and went in for dinner knowing it was about that time. The next day was Thursday. Her mom woke her up, "Lia time for school !" Darting out of bed she got ready sitting down at the table as her mom served her breakfast "Aurelia I heard that there was gonna be a new girl at school, you should try welcoming her." Her mom said obviously trying to sould extra sweet, probably feeling bad for her having to listen to them arguing last night. "OK, I'll try." She practically whispered nervously. As she stepped in the classroom she immediately saw the girl, she was tall, light pale blue eyes, light brown fur which hung over one eye, she was in overalls, and had a few off white spots in her fur. the teacher wasn't in there yet and two boys were making fun of her, surprisingly though she didn't seem upset but had an amused look on her face and then laughed along with them, they immediately stopped confused, why was she laughing? They looked at each other said one more thing Aurelia couldn't here then she heard the girl retaliate and shot something back at him. It obviously made him mad but just then the teacher walked in and everyone took their seats, the girl sat down right next to Aurelia she smiled. after class she turned to face Aurelia and said "I'm soleil, what's your name?" Aurelia smiled liking her immediately "I'm Aurelia, it was cool how you stood up to those boys" Soleil laughed "I'm pretty used to it people were always making fun of me at my old school" "oh, I'm sorry" Aurelia said sympathetically "it's fine, but do you wanna eat lunch with me?" Soleil asked excitedly "sure!" After school they both said bye and went their different ways home. Her dad wasn't home yet when she got back 'hm, weird' she thought she sat at the kitchen table and started her home work "where's dad?" She asked her mom as she walked in, Cont n&c

Aurelia smiled "the new girl is really cool!" "Oh really?" "Yeah" "what's her name?" "Soleil" "oh ok! Well I'm glad she's nice." As her mom walked away she went back to her school. After dinner she layed in bed, she was upset her mom still didn't mention her birthday 'I bet she forgot' she thought upset 'whatever maybe someone will have remembered' The next day at school no one mentioned her birthday, even she had seemed to have forgotten, she still had lots of fun with soleil. After school she got home and the lights were off that's odd. She turned them on and stepped into the living room her mom, soleil and another lady who she guessed was soleils mom, jumped out "suprise! Happy birthday Aurelia!!" They all yelled "what soleil how did you get here before me? How did you know it was mt birthday? " "Magic" she whispered in a joking voice "your mom called mine and asked her to bring me over, so she picked me up and brought me" "awsome! Come on!" She ran to the backdoor "let's go outside! I'll show you my garden!" They ran out the door *sigh* "kids" her mom said as they ran out the door Aurelia showed Soleil all her plants, and books she had " Soleil if you promise you can keep a secret there's one more place I can show you " "of course I can!" Aurelia grabbed her basket "come on before its to dark! " She exclaimed impatiently. The sun was setting making all the fall leaves to be beautiful shade of orange, red, and yellow as they ran down a old worn path Aurelia stopped abruptly "why, isn't it beautiful?" She whispered the clearing look so different the orange and red leaves seemed to be glowing in the sunset soleil gasped and just stood there frozen "it really is" she finally whispered "no wonder you want to keep it a secret." But just then they heard their parents calling, "aw man, we better go I haven't got any cake!" Soleil exclaimed Aurelia laughed "yeah let's go" A little extra info So Aurelia's parents are going through some stuff, her dad doesn't really care much for her, and her mom was worried and upset with him that's why they argue so much. When her mom is stressed or upset she can be really rude and off then she just will ignore Aurelia or get upset with her.
