The next school year started out great - Maya, Dusk, and the rest of us went to the power clubs on Wednesdays and Fridays, our assignments got more interesting, and none of us heard from Jessica at all. Near the end of October, the school felt a little more on edge, which had been the case ever since a few people had disappeared over the course of the month. It bugged me that the school wasn’t doing anything about it. As Naomi, Brazen, Harlow, Calli, and I were walking to dinner, I felt a small tug on my sleeve. I turned and looked down at a second-year girl, probably about eleven or twelve. “Hey, what’s up?” I asked, smiling. She did not return the smile. “You’re Wolf, right?” I nodded slowly. “Yeah.” “I’m Raza’s friend Veronica. H-He told me to come to you if any odd or bad things happened.” I raised an eyebrow. “Okay? What happened?” Veronica swallowed, then looked up to meet my eyes. “Well, the thing is… Raza’s missing.”
