I'll be updating stuff within here with character sprite from time to time. My way of developing without being too active. Don't expect much more from me for a while outside of the occasional sprite rips. Characters I'll be getting sprites for as of now: Sonic (He'll be the first to be completed) Goku Jibanyan Dr. Mario Luigi Act like I didn't announce any character inclusions. I'll be leaving on this. I can't change characters anymore. This is the dead set roster. I'm too far in development to make any more major changes. I've been deciding on the roster like mad for nearly a year. The first roster was made late November last year. And within a year, I've learnt a lot about this project. I've really strengthened myself with designing this project, what my goals are and honing in one of my talents: Presentation! (I'm thinking of that one scene from Megamind rn lol) Anyway, I nailed it down to this. A further explanation of considered picks are beneath. With one or two exceptions, I can only see Clones / Semi-Clones and Nintendo Antagonists getting into the roster on top of this. Here's how I select characters- The five categories!: SSB64 Veteran, Nintendo Antagonist, Non-Nintendo Gaming, Non-Gaming and Clones / Semi-Clones. Lime: SSB64 Veteran (Familiar with fans, has all the series from Nintendo I would put in the game, excluding Retro and General Nintendo, E.G. Wii) Scarlet: Nintendo Antagonist (Antagonists are a great way to build upon series. They're iconic, fun to play, and just perfect inclusions) Purple: Non-Nintendo (Sonic / YKW) (Sonic and Yo-Kai Watch are the two gaming series outside of Nintendo I have the strongest connection with, excluding any series that aren't 'suitable'.) Pink: Non-Gaming (Shonen / Superhero) (Manga is a massive part of my life. Dragon Ball is INCREDIBLY influential on who I am.) Light Blue: Clone / Semiclone (Explanation below! Generally, it's purely a development thing, and a good way to make the roster more unique quickly.) Mario's spritesheet Spybaz already has some of, so I won't rip any more of him to save some time. Track: 73. DBS Ending 10 (Styzmask) Original: By a 70cm Square Window (Ending 10 - Dragon Ball Super) - If you're reading this and not apart of the dev team, understand plenty of character have been considered. This is as far as I could nail it down. - Do note I won't exclude character just because of this process. So basically: Waluigi, Diddy & Dixie, Spider-Man, Deoxys, Ridley, Meta Knight, Porky Minch, Marth, Paper Mario, Lord Enma, Papyrus, Wario, Geno, Skull Kid, Copy Characters and Company Mascots are all considered and might (might!) make it in future builds. But I want to focus on the core roster first. Don't expect any more characters outside of the 'copyable character' barrier. Strong Considerations: - no waluigi ;-; Aside from a Diddy & Dixie combo, if I wasn't cocerned about Wario not being in, Waluigi would be put in ASAP. - Spider-Man. I decided only DBZ content really felt fitting. Otherwise it'd be wierd. Otherwise Spidey would be in! (Also, Spidey's sprites are ripped from Marvel Vs Capcom, so it'd be jarring... ) - There are plenty of veterans and newcomers that were quality enough picks, but were cut due to size. Diddy & Dixie, Deoxys, Ridley, Meta Knight, Porky Minch, Paper Mario and Lord Enma are the most noteable examples, as well as some others like Wario and Papyrus. If development was easy enough for it, they'd be in, along with other veteran picks. - Non-Nintendo and Non-Gaming characters are purely preference, with the exception of Eggman. - Clones have identical sprites, with a couple of changes, like Dr. Mario's pill, or Misc. Semi-Clones would have the same normals, but everything else is different. Both archetypes have similar stats. - The only Clones / Semi-Clones that could happen are in the files, as seen over there <--- - Geno and Skull Kid are very popular picks, although I'm not itching for their inclusion. - Also company mascots are considered. They'll only get in if all of them do. These are: PAC-MAN, Mega Man, Rayman, Crash Bandicoot, Solid Snake. Banjo, Klonoa, Bomberman, Ryu, FF Rep and Sora also are pretty popular. Since there's so many of them, I don't think this will ever happen. So this is just a note. Most a trophies, so I don't really mind if they don't get playable roles. But that's all I'll say on character selection. DO NOT BE OBNOXIOUS ABOUT IT! You can talk about it, just nothing like 'Oh, no Waluigi?' I wanted him too, but It was a difficult decision to do this, revealing the roster and cutting it down to this size. Don't make me teeter on the edge of cancellation of this project.
