Instructions

SPACE -Canon- In 2007 PSLN decided to chop it's GP9E's noses. Because PSLN wanted better visibility for crews. The locomotives were brought to the transload facility at Diamond Springs and the noses were chopped. Ditch lights were also added for better visibility at night for rocks, downed trees, motorists, etc. Before PSLN was using Plug n' Play ditch lights which would easily get shaken around and have their wires torn up. 3332 was painted in primer until 2013 when PS&LN adopted its scheme and 3392 was painted into a temporary SP paint job until 2013 when it also was painted into PS&LN's scheme. In 2019 both units were sent to EMD for a rebuild with a T4 prime mover. 3327 was completed in February while 3392 was completed in May. Both units were paid for by the CA government. As of 2018 the SD9Es have been out of service awaiting rebuild. 5402 is the only one in service as it is used for excursions. Two leased GP20Ds from CEFX are filling in for the SD9Es. In 2022 both geeps were given a full SP light package on the front of the locomotives. The back was not done for cost reasons.
