heres why the laziest is the best gumball episode ever: the episode starts off with nicole getting groceries and telling richard to take out the trash. and of course, richard wont take out the trash because he cant be bothered. this scene basically sets up a plot which defies how lazy richard is. gumball and darwin ask richard if they can play, but instead of flat out denying, richard comes up with a plan; he comes up with a game for them to take out the trash while pretending to be bank robbers. they fall for it at first, but then they figure it out before theyre done taking out the trash. clearly we see a great definition for the characters; richards laziness and the kids naiveness. the kids then storm up to richard and yell at them because he tricked them, and say they wanna be as lazy as him. then, richard laughs, and comes up with a bet and says: "if you can find ANYONE to beat me in a lazy off, then ill do chores for the rest of the day, if you lose, you do chores for the rest of your life" notice how he said anyone instead of them. try and think for a minute about why he said that. moving on, the kids mistook it as them challenging dad and accept. and immediately, they find their weaknesses and suffer through a sugar rush, and called a timeout. they then find out about how larry used to be lazy larry, before he was beaten by richard. of curse the kids try to beg larry to beat richard, in which the begging makes larry lose his job, his car, his wife, and his house, until he finds himself has lazy larry. the fact that they begged him to do something until his life was ruined was just the perfect type of humor i loved from season 1. in the later seasons, its just either meta humor or "darwin being dumb" jokes, which is one of my pet peeves for the series. the kids ask him if he can beat richard, and lazy larry responds "eh". the kids return with richard saying "that was a long timeout" like the big chad he is. the kids then find that lazy larry decided not to join because, of course, hes lazy. i know this is the part which is why people hate this episode, but this was all richards plan. lets rewind back, richard said if the kids can get ANYONE to beat him, he loses. but that will never be possible. if the kids get someone lazy, they will forfeit because theyre too lazy to even bother trying anything. if the kids get someone whos not lazy, they will lose because they arent lazy enough, and this is the main reason of why i love this episode; richard isnt just lazy, he is a CERTIFIED PRO at being lazy. all this time, this was all richards plan that neither we or any of the other characters saw coming. and its sad that we never saw this side of richard in any other episode ever. moving on, the kids try to challenge richard himself, which led to a bunch of great scenes of richard just being a god at the competition. a good example of this was the scene where richard blows a peice of paper causing a rube goldberg machine effect which causes a pizza slice to fly into his mouth. gumball tries to do that, causing a microwave to be thrown at darwin, not only for the sake of humor, but also to eliminate darwin causing more suspense. suddenly mom arrives, which leads to the best scene in the entire show. richard forfeits leading to the kids to celebrate, but then nicole gets angry and says "why are you celebrating while poor richard slaves away at his work?" then richard says "when will it ever end?" doing a bit of guilt tripping. nicole then gets the boys and says to richard "oh poor richard, i dont want you to move another muscle, okay?" WORDS CANT EVEN BEGIN TO DESCRIBE HOW MUCH I LOVE THIS SCENE, theres richard with his master plan, the kids naivety, and mom actually caring for richard like how she cares for her children! why do people hate this episode just because larry didnt matter for it? what else should he do, magically teleport his fat [sus] into the couch? i love this episode and im ashamed we never got any other episodes like it. the episode then ends with a classic joke of richard not moving his feet while the kids are doing chores. what a damn episode. now listen, if you dont like it, L bozo, but thats still okay. in the end, opinions are opinions, and all of them matter whether you have a sonic pfp or not. but still, im definitely crowning the laziest as the best gumball episode ever.
