"What on Earth are you doing?" shouted Destiny from over the helicopter noise. I looked back and saw a mix of pride and concern. "Making you proud," I shouted back. "Julie, I swear, if you jump off this plane, you'll only make me terrified!" "There's nothing wrong with putting my life at risk!" "EVERYTHING'S WRONG WITH THAT!" I laughed, and shook my head, my hair slapping my face with fury. I grabbed all the hair I could and pulled it back into a tight ponytail. I looked down and saw New York below me. I smiled, remembering that my dad would kill me if he knew that I skydived into New York just to see him. I made sure my parachute was secure on my body and got into a jumping stance. I could hear Destiny muffle a scream. My boyfriend, Jack, was beside me, getting ready to jump, too. The last thing I heard before I jumped was, "Julie! You forgot to latch your parachute!" And, that's how I ended up falling out of a helicopter, all giddy and happy, and then suddenly realizing my parachute was way below me. Jack noticed and tried flying towards me, but I gained momentum and saw buildings getting closer... and closer... Just as I squeezed my eyes shut to prepare for my short but quick death, a hand grabbed onto mine and pulled me close. I immediately recognized his faint cologne. I blushed, but snapped to attention when we were just about to land. I grabbed the handles and volted a sharp left, the parachute hitting a tree, and we went flying onto a hill before I groaned in pain. "Oh my God. Remind me NOT to go skydiving again?" I peeled myself off the ground and muffled a yelp as a sharp volt shot through my left rib. Jack must have noticed because he crawled over to me and held me in his strong arms. "Babe.. I told you this whole thing was a bad idea. We could've taken a train, and no one would have a sprained rib." I laughed, but it came out hoarse and weak. "Hey, this was much fun than getting dizzy and throwing up over an old person and have them hit me with their stone-hard purse or stick." Jack laughed in response, but didn't let me go. A crowd of people was forming around us, and in that crowd, my heart stopped. My dad was there. And he did NOT look happy. Link: https://www.w!ttp!d.com/1266821076-the-document-chap-1 ("!" = "a")
