WASD - Sonic Arrow - Redic A Sonic the Hedgehog proof of concept game where you and someone else can battle in a competitive stylized race! (Initially made for @TheSpriteKit)
This is a 2 player split-screen multiplayer game based on Sonic, that was made around late September in about 3 days, and a project I never planned to release. @TheSpriteKit wanted to make some changes to it recently since I technically made this for him, and he couldn't access it anymore due to TurboWarp not being able to view unshared projects, so here I am releasing it publicly. This is still WIP and I've done no work on it ever since those many months ago. Things like a tile system have yet to been implemented and the camera lock is still not done, not to mention vertical scrolling isn't available. This project at this point in time also used sprites from a Sonic fan game called Minic the Hedgehog, but that will be changed in the future to use custom sprites. I do have plans to help @TheSpriteKit with this project in the future, though. Besides the initial split screen platformer remix and some animation code, all of the code in this project is completely original by me. If you want to use this project, give credit to Kiyoshi Sakai for the sprites, @CodeKirby for the animation code, eeveelover64 (on YT) for the music, and kirbystar336 for the engine base. Also give credit to me for making the edits (besides @TheSpriteKit since I initially made this for him). Context: This project was initially based off of one of the first Sonic fan games ever made, Mini Izuko Hedgehog made in 1993 made by Kiyoshi Sakai for X68000 computers. It featured partially working physics, great level design, multiple enemies and 3D bouns stages. This fan game was never released, however, and was likely made as a personal project.
