“I’m Acwulf,” I said, smiling lightly. “I’m Dusk,” Dusk said, poking their head out from behind me. “They/them pronouns before you misgender me.” “Chaiyn Darkedge,” the Sight-Seer said, raising a hand. “I’m Naomi,” Naomi said softly. “What did you mean by you could’ve known but didn’t want to know?” Before Gloria could answer, Chaiyn spoke up. “You’re a Telepath.” Gloria paused, then nodded. “Indeed I am.” She looked Chaiyn over. “Sight-Seer?” He grinned and nodded. “Indeed I am,” he said, mimicking her reply. “Why are you guys here?” Ren asked. “We were going to introduce you to Chaiyn, but you weren’t at your house.” I shrugged. “Assuming you haven’t already met.” Chaiyn shook his head. “Never spoken to Ren before, but I do know a good deal about this Fielder.” He looked at Gloria. “By the way, could we have your name?” “Gloria Sanchez,” the older woman replied. Chaiyn nodded. “Siblings?” he confirmed, glancing between Ren and Gloria, who nodded in unison. “Ren?” Naomi asked softly. The werewolf in question looked over. “Yes?” “You mentioned that you didn’t remember much about your life when you had the monster, right?” He nodded. “Would you want to remember?” Naomi asked. Ren paused, then shrugged. “Honestly, I don’t know.” Naomi nodded. “Understandable. But I think, you know, because I’m a Memoria, that I might be able to get those memories back. The monster is still there, a small amount, right?” Ren and I nodded in unison. “Yes,” he said quietly. “Then I think the memories might be in there. The host might be able to do it themselves, but to be perfectly honest, I don’t think you’ve tried.” Ren shook his head in agreement. “Memorias, though - probably even Telepthas - would be able to get in.” Naomi paused and looked Ren in the eyes. She was one of the few people who were able to do so. “Would you want me to try?” Ren hesitated for a brief moment, but nodded. “Yes. But not now.” As usual, the dinner bell rang on cue. The four of us left the Sanchez siblings, and Naomi and I left Dusk and Chaiyn at the main crossroads to head back to the school.
