3rd part of my DTAE! This is really late ;-; Name: Cornflower Pronouns: she/they (prefers she/her pronouns, but does use they/them) Sexuality: omnisexual Backstory: Cornflower's family used to live in the ocean. One day, an invading species came and enslaved them and put them in the caves. Cornflower was born in the caves, but her mother died while giving birth to them. She still had a good relationship with her father though. Her father had to work in the mines, alone. Then, one day, they went into bankruptcy. Cornflower's dad, Azure, had to make a descision. Give up Cornflower, or put her to work. Cornflower decided to go to work. She barely got to see her father. She grew up, and became more independent. Her mood changed. Then, one day, while mining for precious minerals, the rocks crumbled beneath her, revealing a cavern. It scratched them and gave her a scar on her nose. But, inside the cavern, was a chest. Cornflower gingerly touched it. Suddenly, it teleported her to another land. The ocean. Her home. Cornflower swam up to the surface, to be greeted to with a beautiful sunset. Rosy clouds scattered the darkening sky. The sun turned the water a warm orange, enlightening all below the surface. Then, out of nowhere, a giant wave rose over Cornflower and swept her below the surface, knocking her unconsious. A day later, she woke up. She frantically searched for the chest that had took her to this magical place. Eventually, she found it. She went back home. No-one had noticed her disappearance. To everyone else, they were just another worker, another lifeless soul. So Cornflower just went back to work. A few days later, she saw her dad again. He embraced her. They were in the same mining group for that day. It was all going fine. Suddenly, one of the other miners called out "ROCKFALL!". Cornflower and Azure were at the bottom of the mine. A rock crashed on Azure's leg, rendering him motionless. "DAD!" Cornflower called to the trapped body. Cornflower went back to help him. He wasn't moving. Cornflower pulled him with all her strength. More rocks fell down, and separated Azure from Cornflower. Cornflower clawed desperately at the stone wall, but to no avail. Azure was gone. The other workers in her group pulled them away. Cornflower knew what she had to do. She went again to that cavern that contained the chest. She went inside it, and suddenly salty water filled her lungs. She swam up to the surface. Looking down into the water, Cornflower saw her reflection. But something was different about it. Her eye was glowing. A symbol of where she came from. Not looking back, she set off for her new life.
