One day, she wandered out of pack territory to find a bear, and she froze in fear, making it look like she was prey. The bear clawed at her, she wasn't exactly bite-sized. Luckily, a patrol of wolves, including her mother, saw her and attempted to fight off the bear. But, in the process, her mother died, and they never forgave themself, thinking it was their fault.
