Thomas the tank was an experimental test performed by the U.S. military when an Unidentified Flying Object in the form of the main character from a British children's show did a fly-by of planet earth. The head general at the time attempted to harness the power of this god-like being and use it to dominate the world. However, in his attempt to acquire a sample of this monstrosity, he angered Thomas, causing the beast to go on a world destroying rampage, starting in the magical isle of Sodor.
