*This is my resume for a writing academy I am applying for.* <-> Nightmare <-> I jolted awake and immediately took rapid and deep gasps of oxygen; my lungs were pumping so intensely that I felt a vague feeling of burning inside my chest that felt like a fire. All the while, my heart was pounding heavily as if a hammer were swinging at me internally. My gaze was darting around the dim-lit room, and I felt sweat slowly drip down my brow. It left a sticky substance in it’s wake as I wiped them away with the right sleeve of my pajamas. My pupils were dilating to adjust to the room’s eerie lighting. A groan rolled off my tongue, and I buried my head into my palms. *Of course, another nightmare,* I thought to myself bitterly. Eventually, my panic died down like how an ocean calms after a storm. I reluctantly rolled out of my bed, and I squinted at the clock to check the time. It read 2:17AM. That should be plenty of time to take a breath of fresh air. I carefully crept down the stairs, and I was keen to avoid the third step down. That one was squeaky, and I didn’t want to end up waking my two moms. I looked around to make sure no one was watching, and I cautiously swung open the bright red front door. I felt the early morning zephyr rustle my hair as I stood in the door way. I sat down on the porch’s rocking chair after quietly closing the door. I made my self comfortable as I watched the world around me. It was so still, but if you looked closer, you could acknowledge each and every leaf of each tree, and you could see every sign of life if you took the time to admire it. I felt myself slowly drift off to sleep as I rocked in the chair until everything morphed into a peaceful dream.
I wrote this, lol. I came up with this pretty quickly.
