A lizard icosahedron I made out of paper, took a photo of it and mapped onto an icosahedron in blender. The lizards tile together in 3D.
Like a 3D jigsaw puzzle, the lizards fit together on an icosahedron. Inspired by Escher's tiled reptiles, I reshaped the lizards to work in 3D on an icosahedron. I designed lizards in photoshop, then printed, folded, took a photo, pulled into blender to make a model. You might notice the tape marks. I wanted it to look like my paper model. In the back is a photo of my paper lizard dodecahedron (which I had to design differently) as well as the icosahedron, and the flat Escher type lizards that tile in 2D.
