Once again, the story is too long for me to fit the whole description in the notes and credits, so I moved the introduction here. (The lore is in part 15 only) Boy, it's great to be making a project with Ruby's backstory in detail. (Ruby is my main Minecraft OC and even acted as my persona for awhile.) I've referred to it many times in episodes of my Minecraft series, but now I've made a full project about it! I said I would move toward AMVs, PMVs, and MAP parts with my Minecraft OCs and stop making memes with them (except for my upcoming final meme about an MC OC that you should be excited for because it reveals a lot. Also, characters like Ice and Riley are exempt from this rule.) I'm also likely to stop making projects where I say the lore in the description (except for Sun and Moon projects, and I actually have one of those coming up) so this is one of the last projects where the lore is explained to you. For future lore projects you'll have to theorize and figure it out for yourself. Hope you enjoy! (I'll probably turn off comments soon)
Onto the story! (Third person perspective, 10 years before the present) 19-year old Steve was hurrying through the Minecraft Beta forest, on his way to a meeting with Notch. Suddenly, he heard a cry for help. He looked around and saw an injured little girl with red hair in pigtails, wearing a yellow jacket and green rain boots, about 6 years old. He checked his inventory to see if he had anything he could use to help her. Shovel, sword, pickax, torches, wood, aha, cake! "I'm Steve," he said. "Do you like cake?" "I love cake," the girl replied. "Eat this. It will make you feel better," said Steve. The girl hesitated, but her wounds and hunger overcame her better judgement (which she didn't have much of, since she was only 6 and didn't know better.) Steve gave her the cake, which she immediately devoured. /Little kids always seem to have a big appetite/ Steve thought. He remembered how his younger sister used to eat four or five helpings of a meal when she was that age. /This girl may be on the mend, but she still needs help. How will I get to my meeting with Notch?/ Steve wondered. "Stay here," he told the girl. Steve explored the area and discovered that that they were near a village. He went back to find the child and picked her up because she was in no condition to walk there. They soon arrived in the village. "Guys, I'm running late for a important meeting," Steve told the villagers. "Please take care of this girl until I get back." So the girl was settled in one of the houses. Steve continued on his way to the meeting. "Sorry I'm late, Notch," he said when he arrived, "But I had to stop and rescue a little girl." (The rest of the meeting is unimportant to the story, so I'll skip it.) After the meeting, Steve returned to the village and looked for the child. "Her name is Ruby," one of the villagers told him. For the next few days, Steve was nursing Ruby back to health. Once Ruby recovered, Steve took her out to the forest to train her about survival in the early Minecraft world. He showed her that by punching trees, you could get wood to make a workbench (later called a crafting table) and tools, like a sword and a pickax. He taught her that the sword was used for fighting monsters and killing animals for food and the pickax was for digging through caves and finding things like iron, coal, gold, and diamonds. Soon Steve and Ruby became good friends. Ruby looked up to Steve like an older brother. At some point, Ruby found out that Steve had recently gotten out of jail for punching his brother (hurting other players was illegal back then.) She was a bit surprised, but that didn't make her like him less. Steve and Ruby hung out together often for the next two years. One day, Steve and Ruby learned that they would have to part ways because of a Minecraft update. Just before the update, they said their goodbyes, thinking they would never see each other again. They missed each other badly, but both soon made new friends afterward. Steve met a young woman named Alex and Ruby made friends with another girl called Violet and later the twins Zane and Kaya. --- (Time skip to 2019, the present) When Ruby was a teenager, she met Steve again for the first time in years. Reunited, the two of them reminisced about their old friendship and caught up on what the other had been doing in the last years. Soon after this, Steve's girlfriend, Alex, invited Ruby and Violet to her and Steve's wedding (Alex and Violet were close friends by this time.) Ruby was the flower girl. She happy to see her old friend get married. Steve and Ruby would continue to be together as friends, just like in the old days. --- Finally, Ruby gets her own lore project, and I had this story for a very long time, even before I created Cosmo (whose backstory I'm trying to fix,) Tess, and Coral.
