Please read the whole description as it contains a lot of important information! Hi! I hope you're having a good day. These are the leader apps for SDC June 2022! If you’d like to join SDC as a camper, let Skye (@Isauree) know on her profile so she can notify you when they're out on September 2nd. ~What is SDC?~ SDC, or Scratch Discover Camp is a triannual camp on scratch which runs in February, June and October. You set yourself a bunch of goals (pages, words, minutes of designing, art, music) and try to reach them during camp. If you don’t think you can reach them, don’t worry! You can lower them. ~When will this session run?~ It will start 1st September in /your/ timezone and end on the 30th September in /your/ timezone ~Why do we ask for your time zone?~ We ask for your timezone so we can have a fair distribution of time zones in each cabin. It also helps us sort out the campers, they'll likely be in the same--or a similar--timezone. If you don’t want to provide a specific one, that’s fine! Just please give us an average instead. ~Signups & leader apps~ Your leader app is due on the 25th August and leaders will announced in the comment on the 27th-28th August. You will also get a message. Camper signups will open on once the leaders have been chosen. ~Co-leaders~ We will decide if there will be co-leaders based on how many leader apps we get. Leaders can choose if they want a co as some leaders want one and some don't. ~What’s the difference between a co and leader?~ A leader is basically in charge of the cabin and has the responsibility. A co has less responsibility. Their job is to help the leader with the cabin, adding minutes and similar things. ~What are the cabins?~ Reading Writing Music Art Designing Math(s) (backup cabin) You can decide what your cabin name is. Most leaders like to use alliteration, like Reading Room (skye's previous cabin) and Writing Wilderness (my previous cabin). ~Applications~ When your application is submitted, I'll give some feedback. You don’t need to use it, but it’s highly recommended. You can change and edit your application as many times before the deadline, August 25th. We probably can’t give extensions, because if the results come out later, the camper signups will open later. However, if you really need an extension, I can decide to give you one. ~Participation~ The hosts expect you to be as active as you can, but if you have to miss a few days, tell us! ~How will apps be judged?~ You will be judged on the quality, detail and creativity of your answers. You’re more likely to be picked if you’ve been in another camp before, better if you led a cabin, as you have experience of how camps work. ~Any more questions?~ Just drop me (@Avacac12078) or Skye (@Isauree) a comment here or on our profiles and we’ll be happy to answer!
