You are a journalist, working for a populist newspaper. You need to make article titles that match public interest and opinion to earn more money. Your topics don't need to be researched, because no journalist researches their work (jk). They don't need to be even remotely true. All that matters is getting that money. If your report is interesting, more copies are sold. If it's popular, even more copies will be sold in the long run. The way to make a report interesting is to have the subject match what the public are interested in.
