I hope with this project, I (maybe Stormy as well) can learn about the ATOT community’s favorite ships! I know SmartFrost is very popular. 8/21/2022: Removed SweetHoney because no one ships that (even though it has a nicer ship name than the official one) and replaced it with Dumphie!! (Dumbbean x Sophie)! I also updated the warrior names in the color key section. Who knew Dumbpaw had so many ships? I count five! I ask that you do not continue scrolling if you dislike controversial opinions. I want to dish out the dirt on these fictional characters' romantic interests!! So, since I want to avoid some arguments, get ready for some hot takes. And be warned! Your opinion may be sliced and diced like a jalapeno by yours truly. Know what? I'mma contemplate a bunch of ships. You got SmartFrost: classic, one thinks the other's cute and they come to understand each other and start thinking about each other. Easily the best ATOT ship. Then you have DumbSweet: fleeting, sure, but I liked it because it had the oomph of friendship! There's some flavor!! And Sweetpaw actually had a reason to like Dumbpaw. I loved the dynamic of these two, explaining why I can't come to appreciate DarkSweet. They've grown on me, okay! Speaking of DarkSweet, I get how it could be a cute comfort ship, but I feel kinda ferocious today and I'm in the mood to tear this ship apart. So, I'll say that Darkpaw never had a reason to like Sweetpaw in the first place. It was never explained! That ambiguity in how their relationship started leaves a bitter taste in my mouth, especially so because I wanted DumbSweet to become canon. Why, oh why did Darkpaw start crushing on this certain medicine cat apprentice?? And literally risk her life to keep her safe??? WHY? How long has she been in love with this girl?? But, oh well, they'll give each other flowers and it'll be just adorable. So I'm not going to argue if you ship them, as I get that they're admittedly slightly cute together, but only once they've properly developed. Sweetpaw only interacted with Darkpaw to prove a point - she could befriend anyone. Gasp! Taking advantage of a crush! At the moment, it just feels one-sided and... um... eugh. For now, DarkSweet isn't at a great spot on my list. But this could change! It could! We have Rainder, which only doesn't get OTP because of, again, another nitpick. Rainstar seemed to settle for Alderfang - as soon as she found out he liked her, she fell head. Over. Heels. For him. And I just... it doesn't f e e l like true love! She probably would have went for Lionclaw if she had the chance... but oh, Rainy and Alder are together now, and they're loyal to each other. I would have bumped them up the list if Rainstar had had more MOMENTS with Alderfang before Mouseear went on a gossipping spree. It's the moments that matter. And in my opinion, Rainder didn't have enough moments to show the development on Rainstar's part. Let's talk about another canon ship: Dumphie! Okay, so this ship is fine, but also slightly underdeveloped. And I am not a fan of underdeveloped ships. It'll take more than a few pages of blushing and shifty glances to get me to like a ship. Dumphie, unfortunately, is no exception. (I know it's still in development, but some people are already shipping them, whilst I am just going to keep my distance. Some might call me a "canon-only" shipper. They would be mostly accurate.) All we had to look at was Dumbpaw blushing in a few panels, Sophie giving Dumbpaw and Dave food, and Sophie apologizing for Dumbpaw thinking the food was absolutely disgusting. And then Dave accusing Dumbpaw of liking Sophie! Not a great start for this ship, in my eyes. Again, it's still one-sided. I can't even see these two together in the future! Does one visit the other? Do they think about each other? No, it's impossible. BECAUSE DUMBPAW IS IMPOSSIBLE! (heavy breathing) Wow. I am... really sorry. That was harsh. I think I'm going to stop now. G'night.
