This is an AU or continuation of Quills’ story about Bright with my character Monochrome. Name: E-457 (Named Monochrome by other experiments) Gender: Demiboy (goes by he/him) Sexuality: Pansexual Origin Story: The first thing E-457 remembered was cold, hard metal holding him in place while the bad people put a tag in his ear. As far as he knew, that was his name. He would forever be called E-457 and there was nothing weird about that. He did remember being taken away from the only warmth he’d ever felt by claws dragging him away as a calming voice pleaded for them to have mercy and not take him. But ever since then every time he asked about who it was, all they said was “Someone that was dangerous. We saved you and you wouldn’t be alive if we hadn’t. We are the only ones who can keep you safe.” There was no reason not to believe that, was there? But it had been a while since then. E-457 grew more of a personality than the men wanted. He constantly talked back when they poked and prodded him and forced him to eat and drink strange things. The other experiments were friendly enough, but they were more submissive when the men came for them. They called him Monochrome, because of the way that all the color and interesting things in their days would be gone without him. Then there was the incident. Monochrome woke up one day to the guards looming over him. “Up.” The woman snarled, cutting him with the punishment barbs they had on their tails. He got up slowly, shaking while they grabbed him and put the metal collar on his neck ‘Like always’ he told himself as they dragged him into a room full of strange devices. One of them brandished a long rod, and he felt a stab of pain before the darkness set in. Continued V
When he woke up, the room was very quiet, and he was stuck, somewhere. He looked down to see his paws strapped to some sort of chair contraption. “LET ME GO!” He screamed in frustration. This was different, and he didn’t like it. He looked through the sheet of glass the scientists were watching him through, before they flipped the switch and electricity shocked him. It was the most pain he had ever felt. He howled with pain, and he felt powerful and a blue glow filled the room, blinding him. But the next thing he knew, the was thrown into a cage that was driving away from the labs. They took him into a cell that had someone else in it, and he was afraid again. Who knew how he would react? Why was he relocated? Would this be worse than the first lab? He flicked his tail rapidly as the other experiment came towards him. He was yellow and looked similar to himself, but had red eyes, and a bright red sun on his forehead. “Who are you?” Monochrome asked nervously. The stranger’s eyes flashed “I’m s- Bright..” Monochrome gave a sigh of relief, maybe this wouldn’t be so bad. His cellmate was friendly enough. Suddenly a shadow loomed over them as someone slammed the door open. “I’ve found you.”
