Earlier in the AU Bowser decided to unite all sorts of villains scattered across the kingdom and create a "squad of villains" to act as generals for his army, explaining WHY THE HECC CLYDE FROM FREAKING PACMAN IS HERE FOR WHATEVER REASON- Of course, both parties are caught and absorbed by VORTEX. However, during the Sapphirs' attempt, Peach, the Mario Bros, and a few other "heroes" catch Captain Toad (whose mayor in this AU) watching it all go downwithout a single regret in his eyes. Attempting to distract them, he accidentally curses himself and launches VORTEX into the sky which basically sends everyone at the festival to a link of worlds and- yeah... now that I think about it, the premise sounds kinda awkward and nonsensical, BUT COME ON IVE BEEN HOLDIN THIS IN SINCE MAY-
