Happy July Fourth! This is my Entry for Ringed Glory! Click to see different versions! ^^ Bio: Name: Celer (Speed in Latin, NOT CELERY, IT IS PRONOUNCED KEL-LER.) Species: ??? Age: About 3000 years old Gender: Non-binary Pronouns: They/them Backstory: Celer was born of the Gods themselves in Mount Olympus, home of the Gods, in Rome. Jupiter (or Zeus in Greek) decided to give Mercury (Hermes in Greek) a travel companion because he traveled long ways to deliver messages for the Gods. They took Mars's (Ares in Greek), the God of War, opinion of what animal to base the creature off of. Wolves being one of his favorites (no, seriously he actually likes them), he chose them. Jupiter slowly began to create the creature. He gave it great speed to keep up with Mercury and named it Celer for this. Celer then stayed with the Gods until 79 A.D., when Mount Vesuvius erupted, destroying two of the Gods' cities, Pompeii and Herculaneum. While Mercury was sent to check what had happened, he and Celer got separated. Mercury then tripped into the volcano, greatly burning himself. Angered for not protecting his son, Jupiter banished Celer from Mount Olympus and forced him to live among Pompeii's ruins. He has been there since, watching every visitor and keeping the city's greatest secrets safe.
