You're wrong because Fredbear wasn't always grey. He turned grey because of how old he was. You're right because GF isn't Fredbear. GF was a kid that the Purple Guy killed. Toy Puppet (the Puppet from FFP II) stuffed 4 kids in to the Animatronics of FNaF 1. The kid that wasn't stuffed transforms himself into a Phantom-Like version of the empty, withered SpringFreddy costume. Thats why Golden Freddy can teleport, fade away and transform into a giant head.
