Shadow felt instant remorse for his former mate, feeling the responsibility of raising Kindle, fall solely onto his shoulders like a heavy boulder, not knowing if he was even ready to raise his son by himself. But, eventually after a little while, Shadow found himself to be more comfortable around his son, and began to teach him all he knew–like hunting, fighting, and even things like life lessons that he had learned from his own father. Shadow wanted his son to shape up to be a responsible, but also well-respected cat, knowing that whatever morals or lessons he taught Kindle would reflect into his adulthood. And, as time passed, everything seemed to be going well, until Kindle reached the age of 22 moons, where his father suddenly began to fall ill from a previous harsh leaf-bare. Kindle did everything to try to heal his father, even buying him some extra time, but he unfortunately couldn’t stop the inevitable, and his father d¡ed three moons later.
