Instructions

Credit to @-Rex- for PTE++ ( https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/406678232/ ) FOR REMIX INSTRUCTIONS & RULES, SCROLL DOWN Want to skip to the most recent remix? Try the remix tree: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/708860743/remixtree ===== Minigame Explanation ===== The players have 5 seconds to find a spot on the rows. When the 5 seconds are up, 1 to 5 trams will plow through the rows. If you get run over by a tram, then you're out. Every 5 rounds until round 30, there is a higher chance of more trams appearing. The last player standing wins! New to this summer-edition are the two wave-signs by the pool's sides: slowly & randomly filling their five segments from bottom-to-top, the first sign to completely fill up will launch a wave across the pool from it's side, which'll toss all players & even the tram to different rows in it's wake! Waves can launch at any time; during player movement, tram plowing, or in-between. Hover over a character to see their name. In case the thumbnail appears while the project is running, click/tap it to hide it. ===== Rules ===== 1. Do not add more than 10 characters per remix. 2. You can add music, but do not delete any. 3. Do not modify or delete the Player0 sprite, other users need it to add their characters. 4. Please do not mess up the project. 5. Do not modify the hitboxes, as everyone needs to have the same sized hitbox for a fair game. Changing the sprite size of your player is considered breaking this rule. 6. Do not make your character appear too large, as that'll make things hard to see. 7. Do not add a singular character that appears to be 2 characters (ex: Mario and Luigi as 1 character) unless they are stuck together with no feasible way to physically detach them. 8. You can add characters to the thumbnail, but try not to let it become too crowded. Failure to follow the rules will likely result in an unofficial remix, so make sure to double-check the rules in the Thumbnail's RULE RECAP just before you share the project. ===== How to Add a Character ===== 1. Remix the project. 2. Duplicate the "Player0" sprite. 3. Replace the duplicated sprite's costumes (except for the hitbox and edge-breaker) with your character. It's recommended they wear a swimsuit, as they'll be spending most of the game in a swimming pool. A few tips are written on comments in Player0's sprite. 4. Replace the voice sounds with a voice of your own. If you don't want a voice, mute the voice sounds. 5. Type in your character's name in the section of the custom block that says "Character name:". 6. Type in the seconds-per-swim-frame in the same custom block. Seconds per swim frame indicates how long each frame is. 7. Test the project to make sure everything works. You can add more characters if you want.

Description

Troublesome trams are making waves at the beach in @Burgnew_On_A_Laptop's third seasonal AY-minigame-spinoff, and the second to be themed around summer! So don your swimsuits, take the plunge into the all-new wave-pool arena, and pray that you don't get ploughed by a hydro-tram! And remember to put on some sunscreen this time... === WHAT'S NEW IN THIS VERSION? === - The arena has been moved into a swimming pool by the seaside. To suit the now-submerged area, the players now wear their swimsuits and the trams have been upgraded with speedboat propellors to push them through the water. - This isn't any ordinary pool though, it's a wave-pool! When one of the wave-signs at either side of the pool completely fills up, a wave will sweep across from that sign's side, tossing all players & even the tram to different rows in it's wake! Waves can launch at any time & could either rescue you from an incoming tram, or place you right in front of one... it's all a matter of luck, just like the rest of the game. - Implementing many modern AY-minigame luxuries introduced after the original Tram Trouble, like upgrading the text engine to PTE++, an advanced Music sprite with support for jingles & exemption lists, sprite-layering, automatic move-animation calculation, blinking animations, and voices for ZYellow's characters! - A new collection of tropical music tracks accompanying the now-tropical setting, with several music-loops & jingles making their AY-minigame debuts here. - Many other code change-ups and optimizations. Porting those 'luxuries' over to the original Tram Trouble may be a bit burdensome due to these code changes. NOTE: Due to rushing production towards the end, there may be some glitches left over due to oversights. If you notice any, just tell me or @ZYellow, and we'll attempt to fix them if they're deemed too severe to keep. One layering error is players inside trams visibly showing behind players who are behind the tram itself. This has to remain for now as it's part of the only way I could find to fix an error where players inside trams layered IN FRONT of it. This remix was started on the 24th June 2022, finished on the 7th July after 14 days, and shared on the 8th July at the weekend's beginning. No work was done on the 4th or 5th of July since I had to stay away from hone without my PC or laptop, and then development continued for a lot longer than expected due to a severe layering glitch taking a LONG time to fix, as well as general procrastination. CREDIT TO ALL, INCLUDING: - @ZYellow for the original AY-minigame, gathering some ambient sound effects, creating the assets for himself, Nanobross & Skylar, and being the one who originally came up with the idea for a Summer Edition of this minigame about 9 months ago. (the waves were my idea) - @griffpatch for the original sprite-layering script. @-Rex-, for making PTE++ featured in this project ( https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/406678232/) - All creators of any SFX featured, including Nintendo + NDcube + HUDSON + Sega + Sonic Team + Sega AM2 + Atari + Midway + Rareware + David Wise + MAJOR A Productions + Edd Kalehoff + Jean-Jacques Perrey + Dana Countryman - @Fletchosh for originally starting the trend of AY-minigames having Summer Editions. - @Burgnew_On_A_Laptop for reviving the trend of Summer Editions, and for creating this AY-minigame-spinoff! - Scratch 3.0 for being awesome as always, and all my wonderful fans who remix my AY projects! Without them, what'd be the point? They are the point!
