I got the idea from when I was searched up free follow a lot is asking for loves, favs, follows and/or subscribe to their YouTube channel for a follow. They are gaining more than what they give. I can understand if somebody like griffpatch is doing this because people will be boasting about it but almost all the projects are from not very known scratchers.
