Instructions

.:| Welcome to 8-Bit Music Maker |:. This project allows you to easily create songs that sound fairly authentic to music on Nintendo's NES console, using the same waveforms that give the system its iconic sound. Includes 4 example songs, too! You can use turbowarp to export faster: https://turbowarp.org/706640778?turbo == FAQ == Q: Can WAV files be imported? A: No. Always save the songs as code if you want to import them later. Q: How do I do <x>? A: Click the "help" button. It will probably be explained there. Q: Can you erase notes? A: Yes, use the eraser tool (the blue icon in the bottom-left corner). Q: Can I use songs I've made in my own project? A: Yes, absolutely! Q: Did you write the example songs yourself? A: No. They are from the original project. Q: I just made an awesome song, how do I share it? A: Click the "Get Code" button and follow the directions. This will generate a .txt file. These are too long to post in the comments, so put them on a website that allows you to upload text. Then, post the link in the comments. Q: How do I import a code I found online? A: Copy the code, paste it into a .txt file, save it. Then click the "Import Code" button and follow the instructions. Just be careful: if you got the code from a text-hosting website, you need to copy the uploaded text and nothing else. If you copy too much or don't copy the entire thing, it won't work. Q: Can you erase all of the notes and pages at once? (Green flag does not clear it) A: Yes, hold the 9 key for THREE seconds. == Credits == I got the idea of the Base64 and HEX export system from this project: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/552647396/ I also read these sites on the internet (2022.06.21): https://www.nesdev.org/wiki/APU (NES noise, NES mixer) http://soundfile.sapp.org/doc/WaveFormat/ (WAV file format) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Base64 (Base64 encoding)
