Welcome to the SWC writing competition! This session, our wonderful amazing fantastic judges are @Sunshine_the_Rainbow, @Stariqe, @Firetender, and @-redredrobin-. There will be first, second, third, fourth, and fifth place winners, as well as honorable mentions, and best plot, best style, best character, a few adaptable "best" categories, and up to five junior winners. All types of writing are welcome, including poems and non-fiction pieces! Poems and essays have placed in top 5 before, so don't be discouraged from entering one :D The Juniors category is an award meant to give a better chance to less experienced writers, although we acknowledge that age does not always reflect skill. Entering this category will not reduce your chances of winning any other prize - it's just an extra opportunity to earn points. You are eligible to enter if you are 12 or younger. If you aren't comfortable sharing your age (or age range) online, that's completely fine and you can still enter for all the other categories ^^ Winning the writing competition could turn the tables for your cabin! The point values for each award are as follows: Best Fanfiction: 20,000 Juniors: 25,000 Honorable Mentions: 30,000 Best _: 40,000 Fifth Place: 50,000 Fourth Place: 55,000 Third Place: 60,000 Second Place: 65,000 First Place: 75,000 How to Enter: Comment on this project and be sure to include: - The title of the piece - How you published it (discussion forum, project, etc. Please publish it on Scratch!) - The word count - A link to the piece, and - Whether you would like to enter the Juniors category For fanfiction entries, please also clarify what fandom it is! The maximum word count is 2,000 words, no exceptions. You may not enter a piece that you have entered in previous SWC writing competitions, and you may only submit one entry, unless one of them is fanfiction. Any entries found to have been plagiarized will be disqualified. It's fine if the piece you're entering was written before this month ^^ Collaborative entries are welcome! However, they may not be by more than two people, and if the writers are in different cabins, any points they earn will be split between their cabins. A collaborative entry counts as both writers' entries, and they may not enter a second separate entry. All entries are due by 11:59pm UTC on July 22th.
