(TURBOWARP BC IT LAGS: https://turbowarp.org/704334088 ) This is my entry, I chose the song "Fireflies" by Owl City, but I didn't do all of the song. The cats in this short AMV are just spur of the moment ideas, but I'm thinking of making a comic with them! I feel like the song "fireflies" has this mood that I wanted to replicate, so I used mainly pastel colors that wouldn't clash with the night sky, and I tried to keep the events in this story calm and happy, or calm and sad. -CHARECTER DESC- The purple cat's name is Aurora, and the yellow and black cat is Firefly. Aurora is They/She (meaning they go by they most of the time, but they can also go by she) and Firefly is she/her. Aurora is observant, bold, and curious, (age 16) and Firefly is very shy and let back. (age 19) Both of them are awed by the beauty of the natural world, and the animals in it. -STORYLINE FOR THIS AMV- (If I mess up Aurora's pronouns, it wasn't on purpose, so please tell me. Happy Pride Month)! Aurora is used to living alone. Aurora's parents took good care of them, and supported they're every decision. Aurora's parents were also biologists, and while not famous, taught Aurora how to love nature and all it's beauty. But sadly, Aurora's parents died when Aurora was three, and Aurora was sent to an orphanage. The orphanage was nice enough, but it was crowded and had no view of nature. Aurora couldn't live without nature. So they snuck out, and ran away from the city. Aurora settled down in a nice meadow, well away from the city. They lived there, sleeping wherever she liked for years, and ignoring the growing pain they had whenever she thought about home, and where all the other cats were. Until Aurora met Firefly, that is, and this is where the story is animated in the AMV. Firefly was the oldest in her family of 6 brothers and 4 sisters, who lived in a small cottage in a forest. When she turned 18, she left the house and wandered the world, looking and admiring nature and it's wonders. One year later, she was roaming plains when she met Aurora; both of them were very surprised. Firefly hadn't seen very many cats - even at home, her family lived pretty far from the city, so she was exited. Neither had Aurora, and so the two cats bonded very quickly. Firefly was a bit reluctant at first, being shy, but gave in and became friends with Aurora. They told each other stories, lying on their backs and looking at the moon. But Firefly felt the urge to move on. She wanted to see the mountains in the distance and touch the waterfall in the rocks. She wanted to go, even though she knew Aurora wouldn't be able to come with her. Aurora wanted to stay in the plains, and stay with Firefly. They were too worried about moving on, because they felt what they had was already enough, and if anything changed, it wouldn't be perfect and they would have been not thankful enough for it. It was a sad day when Firefly told Aurora she was moving on. But Aurora knew that Firefly would always remember them, and to respect her decision. 'After all, it's her life, and I can't control it.' They thought. As Firefly left, Aurora sighed to themself. 'I guess I can't control what happens. I just have to keep trying, and keep hoping.' And one year later, Firefly came back. -END- Ok, so I hope that wasn't stupid or anything. I just wanted to make an entry that would make you happy, sad, and peaceful in one story, ending on a cliffhanger that made you want to read more. All story belongs to me, and whatever else the copyright says on the books. I don't know if I'll win; I just know I wanted to try.
I could not finish this in time. It is also worth noting that the paw in one of the animation scenes has so many frames (I need to find a way to make something smooth with less frames) that it pushed Scratch, and it lagged. Turbowarp should run the paws much faster. The animation just kinda stops. I didn't have enough time to finish this massive project, but I'm fine where it is. This was an awesome contest!
