All art and most of the character designs were made by me. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Welcome guys, gals, and my nonbi pals to angst-fest! The full animatic directed by SawaStuff, produced by SawaStuff, animated by SawaStuff, with BGs and REFs designed by SawaStuff, and- yeah I think you get the point. I've been wanting to make an animatic using an actual pallet consisting of more than three colors for a while now, and I finally did it! I spent one long weekend working on this and one extra day a week later to put this all together. So all in all, I spent about four days on this, I haven't eaten or drank anything yet today because I've been so concentrated on finally finishing this godforsaken pile of lazilly colored sketches. Despite what I just said, I'm happy with how this came out! I never got bored or tired of animating and the hardest part was honestly just trying to code while my chromebook was screaming at me about how laggy this thing is. I spent about half an hour only working on the pallet and the REFs. I had two pallets to work with, one for the backgrounds and one for the characters. However, later in the animatic the backgrounds and characters use the same pallet as well as red lighting to add a darker effect. Each character had three outfits in order to better represent the fact that time was passing, and to better highlight what was present reality and what was the warped cave things that kept appearing. If you've watched most of my MAP parts and read their descriptions, it's likely that you are familiar with this Minecraft thing that the animatic was based off of. If not, than go watch them or I will steal everything in your pantry. ;) I'm not going to explain everything here, because the description would be too long, but I am going to explain the concepts. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ At first, we start off with our two main characters, @-A_procratinator- and @SawaStuff in an open area with a sunset and happy lighting. As time passes the backgrounds get darker however the lighting stays the same as to salvage the mood and keep it calmer. This is where red accents first appear. Once or twice the backgrounds flash into a darker color scheme with darker lighting to show the warped caves in the future/hallucinations. The scenes suddenly switch back to being warm, colorful, and happy but just as suddenly, Procrastinator and Sawa are trust into this sort of warped cave-like environment. The lighting is now red and red accents are more common along with darker shadows. Here, the characters themselves also end up warping a tad. In the last pallet switch, the close-up of Sawa starts out dark and red again but zooms out into reality beside the river and the nether portal, when just before the two were chillin' by the river next to their house. Procrastinator is nowhere to be seen, maybe they went adventuring to find more sheep children? Idk. As you can see, the timeline and concepts don't make the most sense. This was supposed to be warped and confusing to better match the audio being used. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I've been wanting to animate a Lemon Demon song for quite a while now, they create some amazing music and so far, I've enjoyed all of it. Amnesia Was Her Name is either my favorite- or at least one of my favorite songs by them. If you see any problems into animation involving the coding, feel free to tell me.
