They tend to be quiet and are cautious of anything new to them. They are rarely sociable, though before being dumped into the Abyss, they liked to spend time with almost anybody who wanted to. The main reason it wasn't deemed as pure could be due to it having a mind to think, as well, it thinks. A lot. It is also strong-willed and determined, though many times when they are acting stubborn it is because they are frustrated, typically with itself. ✦ Background: Chilo had the typical life of a Vessel before the Pale King inspected them- nail training, etiquette, and everything else. They became close with one of their many siblings, who called itself Photon. When they met, Photon gave them a small charm that it stole from around the Palace, with its name written on it to tell Chilo, much to Chilo's unknowing- they believed it had made it. The two of them were inseparable, until one day Photon disappeared. Chilo was confused as to what happened, until one day they were inspected by the Pale King, and like the others who were impure, ended up in the Abyss. There it found Photon, waiting for it. Photon gave them a look of "I've been waiting." and pointed towards a depression in the cliffs, then started climbing the rocks. Chilo followed, but as the two of them were almost to the top, grabbed an outcrop that crumbled, and it fell down, down, down. It landed face-first on the hard ground, the impact giving it its bruises and crack, causing the socket to permanently leak Void. Photon descended to see if they were alright, and quickly cut off a segment of its cloak to use as a makeshift bandage to put around their eye. At that moment, Chilo's hatred for the Pale King had begun, and it decided on the name Chilo- a genus of moth. Despite Photon shaking its head at them since they wanted to try again, they did. This time they were successful at reaching the crevice, and they escaped. The two of them ventured through Hallownest until suddenly they came across a couple of Lightseeds. Neither of them had seen the Infection before, so unknowingly they kept the Lightseeds with them as pets. About two weeks later Photon left for about a day without warning, worrying Chilo, then came back. Chilo was happy with its return, but then out of the blue Photon attacked them, and they noticed a new crack and a faint orange glow in their sockets. They fended it off, ending up having to kill their sibling. Seeing its corpse, not only were they intensely grieved they realized they hadn't killed it- the Infection had, and the reason why it had disappeared for a day was because whether or not the Infection had killed it, the Lightseeds had reanimated its corpse. They buried its corpse, and for a long time wandered Hallownest, alone and terrified. One day they stumbled across a Lifeblood cocoon, and seeing the Lifeseeds' resemblance to the Lightseeds, killed all of them. Noticing the Lifeblood, they saw its use- when it had it their eye would stop leaking. They found themself enjoying of the company of Lifeseeds, though they always keep themselves full of Lifeblood. By the events of the Infection once again ravaging Hallownest, they are long gone from the city, away from the place of pain and suffering they once wandered.
