Like, really big. He loved his family life until one empty, hollow night, he was taken by some scientists for an experiment. Sadly, this experiment went HORRIBLY WRONG, because they ended up cutting his head as well as tail. The scientists wanted Axel to cling to his existence, so they replaced his blood with a different substance that acted like it. This formula was green and it is the green you see on his fur. Axel awakes from the procedure and realizes that something is wrong. He noticed his class tail with his green ooze, as well as the strange feeling of his neck. He was super unstable and insecure, unsure what has happened and where he was. That's when he remembered his family. He was sad and wanted to go back, so he cried, strangely out from one eye. Curious, he wiped his tears and looked at the color. It was green. This stained his fur, as you can see in the animation meme. Also due to crying, his eye turned green, too. Axel realized that he was in a science and research laboratory, and slightly freaked out. That's when he decided to escape the facility. He leaped off the operating table and glanced around to see if there was a presence of a scientist. There were nobody, so Axel made a bold move and escaped because the laboratory had poor security.
