Finally, after almost a month, it’s done. I think it looks okay. Also, I made the parts one big part; I hope that’s alright. Warning, the below stuff gets kind of ranty. ADDITIONALLY, the demon Granite might change. I think he looks a bit funny right now; I’m trying to get feedback from others to see if he is, as least, slightly unnerving. This is probably my best MAP part ever (due to the animation); however, the actual storytelling? Rubbish. If you went “Why did the ugly dragon just turn into a shadow demon? What’s happening?”, then I don’t blame you. I’ll explain what is happening here. So, Granite ,the dragon… wyvern… thing, is experiencing a lot of stress and concern as whether or not his murder of his wife’s killer, his former boss guy (I’m not sure who exactly he is yet), and a few others (which he murdered in the belief that they were out to kill him first) we’re justified. During this time, he also hasn’t been sleeping well due to said paranoia and stress (the eyebags under his eyes indicate this); it gets bad enough to the point where he starts to have mild hallucinations from sleep deprivation. In this part, he wakes up in the middle of the night and goes to the bathroom. Why? I don’t really know; sometimes, when I can’t sleep, I’ll go into the bathroom and just kind of stand there or wash my hands. Anyways, he sees this strange, shadow-like reflection of himself that is supposed to symbolize his newfound bloodlust. He is obviously freaked out by this, and attempts to touch the mirror; he then notices that blood is now leaking from his hands. This is also another hallucination that is representative of his murders. Granite also begins to bleed from the mouth, too. The end part is really weird; I made the original sketches about three weeks ago, and I don’t remember exactly what’s happening. I think it’s supposed to be that his break from reality becomes so bad that he also turns into the demon thing and is now in this blue void? The ending is weird. Also, some of this probably isn’t canon anymore as I am rewriting this. Some of the art is kind of ugly, too (especially, the opening eyes animation). My style doesn’t translate to animation very well due to the small eyes, so I tried to increase their size later in the project. Also, the lineart becomes thicker after the first part of the hallway shot as the thinner lineart made it hard to see things. This made me realize that I need an animation style as well as my normal one. The animated parts are blurry as if I exported them at their high quality, they wouldn’t be able to be uploaded. Overall, this was a good learning experience despite the fact that I’m not to happy with the parts themselves. This project is also some of your food for the month. I will be busy this summer, so I won’t be that active. Then again, I say that a lot, and my activity levels don’t really decrease. So, we’ll just have to wait and see. I’m not even supposed to have these accounts, and I feel bad for having them since I keep them a secret from my parents. I have a completed Pepper reference, so I’ll be uploading that shortly; as well as his card. There will also probably be an art dump uploaded soon, too.
I want this MAP to get done so badly. I am tired of joining MAPs that don’t get completed. Luckily, it seems like this MAP might actually get done. Song is Lifetime Achievement Award by Lemon Demon.
