Based on the 1940 winter war, where the Soviet Union (now Russia) attempted (and failed) to take over Finland. They won the war, taking some land, but it ended as a military fiasco. That's the reason that the Finnish flag is on the player, and the Soviet Union hammer and sickle are on the enemies.
