Torch's parents because of this, wanted him to become a miner. He didn't want to. His parents are very overcontrolling, so they basically made his life hell because of this. He started to question himself, but, someone convinced him that he should leave. His parents were the problem, not him. So he left. It was hard for him, to leave to go to the forest and leave everything he's ever known behind. But he still did it. Now he lives in the forest happily, free from all cares.
