¡Hola a todos! Lawn here again, I have yet another drawing for you. I tried using the same style of shading in my last piece, the one I did for that contest with my friend, and it only turned out… slightly worse than the first time? I also haven’t done digital fire in literal years so there’s that. As you can tell from the title, this is indeed a drawing of one of my own UnderTale AUs. Now, I’ve never actually explained any of my AUs (unless Guardian Cross counts lol) on here, so I decided it’s finally time to share one of my… ninety? I lost track… AUs with y’all. So, his name is Glass, and his story is basically that Gaster was working on some special side project, and it was supposed to find a way for humans to wield magic (there’s more to it than that, something about Asgore, and also he was just curious), but first, he needed some sort of dummy to test everything out on. So, he built a whole magic/machine meld thing to create one. However, before he could start the experiments and produce said dummy, he met his untimely demise. Asgore, being an idiot and not wanting to let any of his late royal scientist’s breakthroughs go to waste, ordered Alphys to figure out how the contraption worked and complete his experiment. Luckily, Gaster had been a good little scientist and kept detailed records. So Alphys used the contraption and it created the dummy, a soulless shell that Gaster had modeled after his son (because why not follow the generic trends?) that he could test out his methods of human-magic-giving on. Now, you might be asking, wouldn’t the dummy need a human soul for this experiment to work properly? And the answer would be yes, however, since human souls were obviously in high demand, and it’s not like Gaster could just create one, the plan was to create something artificial without a soul, and then inject him with bioengineered formulas that would temporarily give him the effects of different kinds of human souls, that way he was basically entirely reusable. After the creation of the dummy, Alphys was instructed by Asgore to follow the procedures that Gaster had written down in his records, aka the experiments and methods he had planned to try. However, Alphys, naturally, being a not fully trained scientist and also a bit out of it, mixed up some of the formulas, so instead of giving him the temporary soul stuff, she gave him a few extra formulas that Gaster had set aside for later (basically just genetic enhancements that were supposed to make the humans he would (hopefully) eventually do this to stronger). She didn’t realize this, thought it hadn’t worked, waited for the time the records said it would take for the effects to wear off, and tried again, this time not messing it up. And it worked! After several tries, the dummy could successfully manipulate thermal and electric energy, which wasn’t entirely what Gaster had thought would happen, but it was enough. And what was more, the dummy retained his abilities after the soul formulas had worn off. Alphys and Asgore saw this as a win. But what they didn’t know what that Alphys’s first, unnoticed mistake would soon be their end. Now, the formulas she’d given him on accident had been meant for intellectual enhancement (so that the humans could both physically and mentally handle their abilities) and for a sort of suspended animation to postpone death (in case of a workplace accident). And one day, the dummy realized that it could escape the laboratory in which it was kept. That was not something it wanted, per say, it couldn’t feel any happiness or joy towards the idea, but it seemed logically like a better option than being subject to the experiments. Besides, he had begun to grow addicted to his ability to create flame, and once he figured out that he could do it as much as he wanted away from the scientist, he was sold. So, the next time Alphys came in to remove him from his enclosure for another trial, he attacked her and k!lled her, then started a fire. Overcome by the obsession he felt for it, and still new to his ability, he accidentally burned down the lab. Luckily Hotlands is fireproof (get it?). Long story short, he escaped, and eventually he blipped out of his universe and was stranded in the vast multiverse, where he learned that he wasn’t exactly like the rest of the monster (he knew nothing about the outside world beyond it was flammable, and he spent the entirety of his time hiding from Asgore and the Royal Guard who’d been sent to retrieve him). He named himself Glass, I’ll get to that later, and began to forge his life and actions on whatever benefited him in the most. This probably just sounds like some random girl on the internet making an overpowered Sans character, so bear with me, sorry. There’s still more, continued in the notes and credits because I ran out of room.

Description

So, since obsession isn’t really an emotion, he can experience it, and as said he is a pyromaniac. Since he’s logic driven and in no way caring towards anyone, and has really no memory of emotions to base his actions off of, he has no qualms towards doing anything and isn’t really prone to sticking to sides. Whatever benefits him, like I said. He named himself Glass after the ‘postponing death’ thing, which causes his physical body to break apart and shatter like glass instead of shutting down and stopping working. Gaster had originally intended for this to be a proof against future subjects just dying randomly, and he was intending to meld their bodies back together when he could, but since Glass can control fire, he just does that himself. Pretty hard to get rid of. Yet again, this story is so ridiculously stupid, and it has more plot holes than a Descendents movie, and his character design looks awful, and so does the art in general, but I felt like sharing anyways. Anyhoo, go back to your lives now and forget you ever saw this or something, hasta luego. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ All art by me. Do not remix or repost without crediting me as the original artist. Do not remove my watermark or claim this art as your own. The story, however bad, is also by me, and do not attempt to use it or claim it as your own in any way, tracing included. If, for some reason, you want to draw fanart or something, just credit me for creating it. (And do link me, I’d love to see it-) Story based off of UnderTale by Toby Fox.
