~ Kit: Dunekit ~ ~ TFCRP Past: Yes, I had Frond! ~ ~ Experience: I'd say I'm intermediate, leaning towards experienced. I've been in TFCRP, Elements, BDRP, SPUF, and Deep in the Forest, to name a few ~ ~ Any long Periods of Inactivity: I don't believe so? I could be remembering wrong but I'm pretty sure I've been consistently active. ~ ~ Activity: fluctuates 5-10/10 ~ ~ Any Added Health Issues: nope ~ ~ Research: - links: https://wagwalking.com/cat/condition/angular-limb-deformities https://www.ndsr.co.uk/specialist-referral-service/pet-health-information/orthopaedic-surgery/limb-deformity https://www.fitzpatrickreferrals.co.uk/orthopaedic/angular-limb-deformity/ - What I learned: There are two kinds of Angular Limb Deformity, congenital and developmental. Dunekit's is congenital, since she's had the twisted paw since birth. Less severe deformities are mostly cosmetic, with the leg usually appearing to bow outward or inward. Cats with this kind rarely have pain and can still do all activities with no unusual problems. The most severe cases can cause a lot of pain, and some lameness. Cats would not be able to do things such as running or jumping, and would limp constantly. Of course, this is a spectrum, and a specific cat can land anywhere inside those two possibilities. With every case, arthritis is much more common later in life. - Dunekit's specific symptoms: Du would be in the middle of the aforementioned spectrum, though she'd lean towards the worse end. The joints in her wrist would have a lot less mobility than usual cats, and because of this, she'd walk with a limp at all times. If she uses her deformed leg too much, it'd get sore as well. With her limp, her running will be a lot more awkward and slow than usual. I think one way she'd cope with all of this would be to learn how to do certain things on three legs, especially if the activities are really straining and would pain her leg. ~ ~ RP Characters Longevity: In more serious RPs such as TFCRP, quite a while. For example, I kept Frond for six months ~ ~ Dunekit's Longevity: Hopefully she would live past her fifties! That would be my goal ~ ~ Personality: Dunekit stands tall, a perfectionist ( = ) holding herself to high standards. She constantly chases after only the best outcomes, and has the drive to achieve them. Yes, she's incredibly determined ( + ), able to tirelessly pursue her goals with high spirits and endless energy. This doesn't necessarily extend to anything /except/ her goals, however, as Du is a pessimist ( = ), not having much hope for much at all. Her mind automatically chooses the worst answers as the most likely, in almost every situation. This, combined with her perfectionism, leads her to be incredibly strict ( - ) on others such as her family and any students she may have. She'll apply all the same high standards to others as to herself, and won't regret giving you a piece of her mind if you can't live up to them. She's pretty prideful ( - ) as well, which causes her to rarely admit when she's pushed too hard or gone too far. Not that she's wrong very often, mind you. Dunekit has a naturally observant ( + ) nature, her careful watching and stellar memory aiding her in making carefully judged decisions. This, of course, means that she is confident ( = ) in pretty much everything she does, which although let's her defend her opinions and speak up when necessary, it also feeds into her prideful nature. She can be a control freak ( - ) more often than not, always wanting to be in charge and know every decision, as well as hating when she doesn't get her way. Still, she's incredibly loving ( + ) once you're close to her, staying loyal and attending to the needs of those she cares for deeply. ( Traits: Positive: determined, observant, loving | Neutral: perfectionist, pessimist, confident | Negative: strict, prideful, controlling ) ~ ~ RP Example: Dull yellow eyes pierced the humid air that cloaked WindClan's camp, belonging to a pale tortie kitten who was lying, legs splaying, in the long shadows of the nursery. Dunekit's tufted tail flicked angrily as she tracked the movements of the other kits running, playing happily even as she rested alone. Her twisted leg throbbed dully, sore from the fun she had been having earlier. She had had to drop out of the game because of the pain, knowing by now it would keep her awake if it got much worse. Though a few of her playmates had turned to her as she left, concerned, they didn't seem too worried now, and Du... didn't like that. She shoved herself up onto her paws, ignoring the spike of pain that resulted from the movement, and began to stalk over to her denmates. She'd find a way to make them come rest with her, or die trying. ~
